South Central Climate Adaptation Science Center Seeks Student Research Assistant

The South Central Climate Adaptation Science Center is searching for a Student Research Assistant for the Water, Wastewater, and Storm Water Agencies and Organizations in Oklahoma. This position will compile information about providers and services offered for water, wastewater, and stormwater utilities in the State of Oklahoma, and will share information about new technical assistance opportunities available to utilities.  The position is within the South Central Climate Adaptation Science Center at the University of Oklahoma, which has a contract to support regional efforts (OK, NM, TX, LA, AR) of the Southwest Environmental Finance Center at the University of New Mexico, through a project funded by the Environmental Protection Agency under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.  Work is estimated at approximately twenty hours per week. Students may be graduate or undergraduate and must be enrolled in the fall 2024 term.

Boeing - Entry Level Structural Analysis Engineer

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking an Entry Level Structural Analyst to join the Airframe Structures Engineering team located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

A successful member of this team will understand and execute modifications and upgrades for the AWACS, AEW&C, Bombers (B-1, B-2 and B-52), or the Executive Transport Services & Systems (ETS&S) programs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs limited structural analysis using well defined analysis tools to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
  • Participates in various test activities substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied
  • Works under close supervision

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. 

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Able to perform hand calculations.
  • Experience in structural analysis.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Active U.S. Secret Clearance.
  • Experience validating or verifying finite element model results.
  • Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Typical Education & Experience: 

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range: $61,200 – $83,200
