The Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex (OC-ALC) of Tinker AFB are looking for engineering interns. This opportunity is open to all engineering disciplines, with a preference of Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Industrial and Systems Engineering.
Below is the list of duties as well as KSA for all of our interns of primary need. Let me know if you need some additional information.
- Performs selected tasks and phases of routine studies and projects that require application of basic occupational field theory and principles in the technical area of Engineering. Working under the guidance of and in close association with senior personnel performs a variety of work assignments consisting of established, specific, and related tasks that have been selected to orient the employee in the practical application of basic principles, concepts, and techniques of the occupational field. Assignments are selected on the basis of their progressive training value for the individual. Attends training classes and activities as directed.
- Participates with senior personnel in conducting non-routine projects. Studies Air Force requirements for the projects and researches and studies the current body of precedents and technical knowledge. Receives specific information and explanations on projects, e.g., specifications and basic steps and tasks to be performed. Performs segments of the project work as delegated by senior personnel, continually coordinating with the senior personnel. Analyzes information or data gleaned from project results, documents project findings, and prepares reports of findings. Searches technical literature, reports, and other reference material to locate information requested by senior personnel.
- Provides assistance in planning, monitoring, and conducting special studies, projects, and initiatives. Assists senior personnel in determining the validity, feasibility, achievability, and efficiency of special studies, projects, and initiatives, and participates in planning the studies, projects, and initiatives. Attends meetings to observe interactions and understand working relationships with customers, specialists, and other organizational points of contact. Assists in the collection and analysis of information and data, the documentation of findings, and the development of reports. Participates in the evaluation of project results and makes recommendations for improvement in study and project procedures.
- Uses computers/computer software, such as email, work processing, spreadsheets, presentation programs Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) programs and project tracking programs to assist higher graded engineers in solving engineering problems and facilitate the work. Learns to use relevant software applications.
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA):
- Knowledge of basic occupational theory, principles, concepts, and practices in the technical area of engineering.
- Skill in applying basic occupational theory, principles, concepts, and practices sufficient to perform student trainee assignments.
- Ability to follow instructions and guidance to complete assigned tasks and communicate information to others in oral or written format.
- Ability to analyze problems, identify significant factors, gather and interpret pertinent data, and apply established rules and procedures in order to recommend effective solutions.
- Ability to learn and apply basic investigative techniques to accomplish work in the subject-matter field.
- Ability to gather and analyze basic facts, information, and data, and draw conclusions.
