Pantex is accepting applications for its 2027 Summer Internship Program in Amarillo, Texas. This is a 12-week paid internship running from May 24–August 13, 2027, offering students the opportunity to work on real technical and operational projects while gaining mentorship, professional development, and exposure to leadership.
Internship opportunities are available across several areas, including engineering, IT and cybersecurity, production operations, quality assurance, mission assurance, program integration, and security. Depending on the role, projects may involve engineering design, machine learning, 3D printing, electrical testing, software development, digital modeling, or process improvement.
Minimum requirements:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree from an accredited institution
- At least 15 completed credit hours
- Minimum 2.8 GPA
- Current transcript required with the application
- Recent graduates are eligible up to two years after graduation
Preferred majors include Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Civil, Computer, and Manufacturing Engineering, as well as Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Business, and related fields.
For engineering applicants, preferred minimum GPAs are 3.0 for bachelor’s students, 3.3 for master’s students, and 3.5 for Ph.D. students. The position also requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
