The EPA National Student Services Contract has an immediate opening for a full time HRMS Scientist position with the Office of Research and Development at the EPA facility in Research Triangle Park, NC. As a team member, you will provide laboratory support, data management, and data analysis support for the study of PFAS in the environment and the success of various destruction techniques. You will provide laboratory support, database management, file management, data curation and extraction, quality control, as well as performing qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The team member will collaborate with an EPA team of investigators who are identifying PFAS emissions from various sources. The goal of this research is to use High Resolution Mass Spectrometry (HRMS) to identify PFAS in emissions from various treatment technologies. The EPA National Student Services Contract has an immediate opening for a full time Chemical Data Scientist position with the Office of Research and Development at the EPA facility in Research Triangle Park, NC. As a team member, you will support research under the Chemical Safety for Sustainability (CSS) research program on modeling of human exposure to chemicals. You will assist with data organization and extraction needs, including acquisition and development of datasets documenting transformation relationships between chemicals, development of semi-automated protocols for data identification and collection, basic summaries and analyses of data, and extraction and curation of data from original sources. Your work may include gathering additional datasets from online sources, formatting datasets into standard templates and uploading into databases, applying out-of- the-box thinking to improve automation data collection, testing and evaluating ease-of-use of software, and completing QA workflows to ensure data quality and provenance.
