We are carrying out a search for a tenure-track appointment in Engineering or Applied Physics at Siena College and would be grateful for your help in bringing our job posting to the attention of as many individuals as possible--
If you have specific candidates in mind, we would also appreciate it if you would share their contact information with us so we may also reach out to them directly.
We seek candidates with broad intellectual interests who are committed to teaching and establishing an active research program involving undergraduate students. Siena College has one of the largest baccalaureate physics departments in the country and nine full-time faculty with broad research interests. Our Applied Physics program is among the newest and fastest-growing programs within the department, and we envision the new faculty member will be able to play a leadership role in maintaining and growing this program.
Finally, we are especially interested in recruiting and retaining a diverse group of faculty. Three (out of nine) of our faculty are women and 40% of our B.S. degrees have been awarded to women, roughly double the national average. We hope the new faculty member will help strengthen and build upon these successes.
