M-D Building Products is looking for an energetic, hands-on person willing to learn and work in a manufacturing environment as part of the Engineering team. The successful candidate will support engineering initiatives and projects to make improvements in our manufacturing and distribution operations. The goal while providing value add for MD is to provide resume building real world experience.
Essential Functions
• Develop standard work instructions and training material and provide training to employees.
• Perform root cause analysis through direct observation and data capture.
• Participate in resolution of product quality issues, and assist manufacturing teams in resolving process problems, equipment, or tooling issues.
• Design equipment, gauging, and tooling utilizing AutoCAD or Solidworks solid modeling software and other engineering analysis and design tools, including 3D printing of prototypes.
• Recommend and implement changes in products and processes to improve manufacturability and profitability (cost out), including functional review of drawings and Engineering specifications.
• Perform other duties as assigned to assist the Engineering and R&D team.
Qualifications
• Sophomore or Junior working towards a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
• Experience with AutoCad and/or Solidworks and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrated experience in project and time management, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, from production associates to the leadership team.
• Required authorization to work lawfully in the United States.
