The EPA National Student Services Contract has an immediate opening for a full time PFAS Laboratory Research Support position with the Office of Research and Development at the EPA facility in Research Triangle Park, NC.

 

As a team member, you will support research under the Chemical Safety for Sustainability (CSS) research program on developing and applying a chemotype enrichment workflow (CTEW) to analyzing chemical-activity datasets, and creating and applying customized sets of chemotypes to model chemical categories and chemicals of emerging concern to EPA, such as PFAS.


 

The purpose of the EPA National Student Services Contract is to address EPA’s need to increase the supply of promising scientists, engineers, and administrative personnel in disciplines related to the EPA mission. This program provides opportunities for exceptional undergraduate and graduate students and recent bachelor’s, master’s, and postdoctoral graduates to work in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Office of Research and Development (ORD) research and administrative projects at multiple EPA laboratories and research centers.

Summer 2021 NSF REU Research Assistantships

 Two undergraduate summer research assistantships are available at $1,600/month for three months in summer 2021 at University of Houston, Houston, TX 77204. This is funded by Research Experience for Undergraduate (REU) program of National Science Foundation (NSF). The application is open to students nationwide. Potential projects include:

  • 3D printer design. Background needed: Python, computational geometry, tool path planning.
  • Virtual Reality / Augmented Reality application. Background needed: Unity3D programming.

  • PLC automation and IoT. Background needed: mechatronics, Allen Bradley PLC.

Great matching candidates will have strong written communication skills and experience creating marketing content from technical material.    Develop and launch an internal sales enablement website in partnership with our solutions team

   Increase visibility and actionability of our solutions collateral (e.g., case studies, white papers)

   Assist with change management activities associated with the launch of this site (e.g., communications, training), knowing our team is globally distributed

 

Qualifications:

   Pursuing or hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field

   Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to distill complex information into simple messages
