The National Nuclear Security Administration Minority Serving Institutions Internship Program is now accepting applications

The National Nuclear Security Administration Minority Serving Institutions Internship Program (NNSA-MSIIP) is now accepting applications for internships starting in the summer of 2024.

 

About NNSA-MSIIP:

  • Open to undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled at Minority Serving Institutions. 
  • Two internship options are available:
    • Summer internships: 12-weeks beginning on June 3, 2024, and ending on August 23, 2024. 
    • Year-long internships: 12 months beginning on June 3, 2024, and ending on May 23, 2025, including full-time participation during the summer and part-time participation during the academic year.
  • Financial support includes: 
    •  Stipends 
      • $750/ week for Undergraduate Students 
      • $950/week Graduate Students
    • Housing supplement 
    • Commuting supplement
    • Remote participation supplement
    • Travel to and from the hosting site.  
  • Appointments may be hosted in-person, virtual, or in a hybrid capacity.
  • Opportunities are available not only in STEM but also in communication, management, business, law, and other disciplines that support the mission of the National Nuclear Security Administration.
  • Project assignments will take into consideration the applicant’s location preferences and disciplines of interest.

Eligibility:

  • Be a U.S. citizen at the time of application.
  • Have and maintain a minimum undergraduate or graduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Be enrolled as a part-time or full-time undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited Minority Serving Institution during the 2023-2024 academic year.
